Verdict due in Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery trial

It has been revealed that a French court will give a verdict today in the trial of ten people accused of robbing Kim Kardashian at gunpoint at The Hôtel de Pourtalès in Paris.

Nine men and one woman have been standing trial since April of this year, with prosecutors seeking jail terms of ten years for the four men accused of carrying out the crime.

On October 3, 2016, the SKIMS founder was robbed during Paris Week and was held hostage by five masked men.

They are understood to have stolen millions of dollars worth of jewellery from the reality TV star, including her $4 million engagement ring given to her by ex-husband Kanye West.

Kim was understood to be with her sisters, Kourtney Kardashian and Kendall Jenner, earlier that evening in Paris, but proceeded to go back to her hotel room alone.

I was Snapchatting that I was home and that everyone was going out,” she explained in a March 2017 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The mom-of-four noted that the thieves most likely tracked her from her social media, and said: “I think they knew Pascal was out with Kourtney and that I was there by myself.”

The trial started last week, as the 44-year-old took the witness stand for four-and-a-half hours over the 2016 armed robbery.

A majority of the accused are now in their 60s and 70s and have been dubbed the “Grandpa robbers” by French media outlets.

On Wednesday, prosecutors requested a ten year jail terms for the four men accused of carrying out the robbery, including its alleged leader – a 69-year-old known as “Old Omar.”

It was reported that Kim shared with the the court at ParisIle de la Cite that she forgave him after hearing a letter of apology.

I forgive you for what has taken place but it does not change the emotion, the feelings, the trauma and the way my life changed,” she said.

Last week, Kim’s former bodyguard’s legal representative, Jerry Kroll, stressed that Pascal Duvier was following “protocol” during the time of the incident.

“They had stayed at this hotel multiple times before, and everything had always gone smoothly. He did his job.”

Despite loosing his job after the terrifying incident, Jerry confirmed that his client is still on good terms with the reality TV star and “it pains him to see what happened to Kim.”

During an emotional statement in court, Kim recounted the traumatic events of the night of the robbery before 10 defendants.

With her mom Kris Jenner by her side, she said: “I absolutely thought I was going to die.”

“He pulled me towards him, and I said a prayer. I was certain that was the moment he was going to rape me.”

In 2016, French outlet Le Journal du Dimanche reported that Kim told the police it was just before 3:00 a.m. when she “heard a noise at the door, like footsteps” and called her bodyguard.

Through the door, I saw two people arrive, plus the night man who was tied up,” she said.

Kim added that the men tied her up as she was “wearing a bathrobe, naked underneath.”

In a season 13 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the 45-year-old reflected back on the traumatic incident with her sisters.

They dragged me out onto the hallway on top of the stairs… That’s when I saw the gun clear, like clear as day. I was kind of looking at the gun, looking down back at the stairs.”

I was like; ‘I have a split second in my mind to make this quick decision,’” she said.

Am I going to run down the stairs and either be shot in the back? It makes me so upset to think about it. Either they’re going to shoot me in the back, or if I make it and they don’t, if the elevator does not open in time, or the stairs are locked, then like I’m f****g. There’s no way out.”
