Get ready to swoon. Netflix has released the trailer for its new Pride & Prejudice series, offering a fresh look at Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet and Jack Lowden as the famously proud Mr. Darcy.

The six-episode adaptation of Jane Austen’s beloved 1813 novel premieres on Thursday, December 3, exclusively on Netflix — just in time for a cozy holiday binge.

What Is Netflix’s Pride & Prejudice About?

Netflix describes the series as a “faithful, classic adaptation of the novel.” When wealthy bachelors move into the neighborhood, the five Bennet sisters find themselves navigating romance, family and the social expectations of Regency England. Eldest sister Jane forms a connection with the charming Mr. Bingley, while quick-witted Elizabeth repeatedly clashes with his aloof friend, Mr. Darcy. Unexpected encounters and a family scandal force Elizabeth to rethink everything she believed about him.

The series is written by bestselling author Dolly Alderton (Everything I Know About Love) and directed by Euros Lyn (Heartstopper). Emma Corrin also serves as an executive producer.

Meet the Cast

Alongside Corrin and Lowden, the series boasts an impressive ensemble of British talent:

  • Emma Corrin as Elizabeth Bennet
  • Jack Lowden as Mr. Darcy
  • Olivia Colman as Mrs. Bennet
  • Rufus Sewell as Mr. Bennet
  • Freya Mavor as Jane Bennet
  • Daryl McCormack as Mr. Bingley
  • Louis Partridge as Mr. Wickham
  • Jamie Demetriou as Mr. Collins
  • Fiona Shaw as Lady Catherine de Bourgh
  • Siena Kelly as Caroline Bingley

The cast is rounded out by Anjana Vasan, Saffron Coomber, James Northcote, Justin Edwards, Eloise Webb and Isabella Sermon, among others.

A New Darcy for a New Generation

Every new Pride & Prejudice invites comparisons with the classics — Colin Firth’s unforgettable Darcy in the 1995 BBC series and Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfadyen’s 2005 film. Netflix’s version is the first major screen adaptation in two decades, and with Alderton’s sharp, emotional writing behind it, Austen fans are already counting down.

Pride & Prejudice premieres Thursday, December 3, on Netflix.
