Biggest New Movies Coming in Late July & August 2026

New movies will continue to come thick and fast throughout July and the rest of the year — and this week’s release is an absolute doozy.

Indeed, Christopher Nolan’s latest feature The Odyssey, aka the epic historical fantasy drama based on Homer’s ancient Greek literary works, is out now globally. Fans of Nolan’s and cinephiles in general, won’t want to miss this one.

If you’re one of the few who doesn’t buy into the Nolan hype, there’ll be many more new movies for you to choose from between now and the end of 2026. So, read on to see what else is coming in July and August

Largely expected to be one of the biggest films of 2026, The Odyssey sees film auteur Christopher Nolan step behind the camera for his silver screen adaptation on Homer’s ancient Greek epic.You may like

Starring Matt Damon as Odysseus, the high fantasy action-drama chronicles the Ithican king’s years-long journey to return home to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland) following the end of the Trojan War. Jon Bernthal, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, and Mia Goth are among its A-list ensemble.

Expect this one to make an absolute stack of cash at the worldwide box office — and, with the film currently sitting on 96% critical and 97% audience scores on Rotten Tomatoes (RT), it seems like it will, too.

Just two weeks after his major supporting role in The Odyssey, Tom Holland will throw on his Spider-Man spandex once more for the iconic Marvel hero’s fourth solo adventure in the MCU.

Set five years after its forebear, Spider-Man: Brand New Day sees Peter Parker grapple with an increasing sense of isolation as he fully throws himself into his friendly neighborhood persona and attempts to keep New York City safe amid the rapid rise of numerous supervillains. Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Sadie Sink, and Mark Ruffalo are part of Spider-Man 4‘s absolutely stacked cast.

Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie

The third film set to hit theaters in the hugely popular dog-based animated franchise, Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie sees the titular heroes shipwrecked on a mysterious island filled with dinosaurs.

Alongside Rex, a pup who’s been stranded on said isle for years, Marshall and the gang embark on another quest to stop perennial villain Mayor Humdinger from causing a nearby volcano to erupt and destroy everything in its path. One to take the kids to if you need to keep them quiet for 90 minutes or so.

Super Troopers 3

The cult comedy classic is back — that’s right, the Super Troopers will return to the big screen for their first film in eight years.

This time, the group have to contend with Farva’s over-the-top Indian engagement to Thorny’s sister, which the latter wants to thwart. Thrown in their investigation of a new drug ring, and you can expect plenty more slapstick moments and other comedic sequences in Super Troopers 3.

Anne Hathaway’s busy summer continues apace with this sci-fi thriller that also features Star Wars icon Ewan McGregor, Nashville‘s Maisy Stella, and Invincible voice actor Christian Convery.

Per a Warner Bros. press release, when their street is mysteriously relocated to a place inhabited by dinosaurs, the Platt family are forced to navigate their new world and, in the process, avoid becoming their reptilian neighbors’ latest meal.

Inspired by the true story of culinary legend Anthoy Bourdain, this A24 biopic stars Dominic Sessa as the titular world-renowned chef.

A dramatization that charts his rise from cooking novice to one of the mos famous gourmet artists the world has ever seen, Tony will be worth chewing over for Bourdain’s fanbase. Emilia Jones, Stavros Halkias, Leo Woodall, and Antonio Banderas also star.

Insidious: Out of the Further

The sixth installment in the supernatural horror film franchise, Insidious: Out of the Further stars Amelia Eve as Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the house that the former grew up in.

When Gemma learns she can travel to The Further — a realm haunted by lost souls — it isn’t long before she decides to try and traverse it, with typically terrifying consequences. Expect numerous ties to other entries in the movie series.

The final major release of the summer (or winter, if you live south of the equator), this Ridley Scott-helmed dystopian action-thriller, which adapts its book namesake, tells the story of young pilot Hig (Jacob Elordi).

Despite his harrowing past and present-day scepticism of his fellow survivors, Hig still believes that some form of humanity exists somewhere across the glove. Surprise surprise, it isn’t long before he encounters Bangley (Margaret Qualley) and, separately, a mysterious radio signal that might offer hope for a better world and future. Josh Brolin, Guy Pearce, Benedict Wong, and Alison Janney are among The Dog Stars‘ starry ensemble.
