The fifth episode of ‘Euphoria’ season 3, titled “This Little Piggy,” continues to raise the stakes for Zendaya’s character Rue
Euphoria season 3 continues to raise the stakes, with episode 5 delivering major twists, violent confrontations, and a shocking cliffhanger involving Rue, played by Zendaya.
Set years after high school, the new season follows Rue, Jules, Nate, Cassie, and Maddy as they navigate increasingly dangerous and complicated lives. Earlier in the season, Rue was arrested by the DEA and later became a confidential informant, placing her between rival criminal operations led by Laurie and Alamo.
In episode 5, titled “This Little Piggy,” tensions rise across multiple storylines. Cassie, portrayed by Sydney Sweeney, has been building an online career with Maddy acting as her manager. After social media influencer Brandon encourages Cassie to leave Maddy’s management team and join his creator house, Cassie briefly agrees. However, when Maddy threatens to sabotage a potential audition for the soap opera L.A. Nights, Cassie changes her mind and stays. Maddy later pressures Lexi Howard into helping Cassie secure the audition, which ultimately leads to Cassie landing the role.
Meanwhile, Nate, played by Jacob Elordi, continues struggling financially after his debts were exposed earlier in the season. Although Cassie has been sending him money, it is still not enough to settle what he owes. During a violent confrontation, one of Naz’s associates attacks Nate in his home, severing both his recently reattached toe and one of his fingers.
Elsewhere, Maddy and Rue reconnect at a diner before Alamo unexpectedly arrives. While Rue senses danger and attempts to signal Maddy to leave, Maddy instead forms a business connection with Alamo. After hearing about Cassie’s growing online success, Alamo proposes a partnership involving dancers from his club, the Silver Slipper. Maddy agrees to help manage several performers, including Magick and Kitty.
The episode’s most intense sequence occurs when Rue is taken back to Alamo’s property by members of his crew, who suspect she may be disloyal. They force her to dig a hole and bury her up to her neck in the ground. In the final scene, Alamo rides toward Rue on horseback carrying a polo mallet. The episode ends moments before viewers discover whether he attacks her, leaving Rue’s fate uncertain heading into the next episode.
