Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Enjoy Rare Outing in NYC at Project Healthy Minds Gala

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle turned heads in New York City this week as they made a rare public appearance together for a cause close to their hearts.

On Thursday, October 9, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended Project Healthy Minds’ World Mental Health Day Gala, where they were recognized as Humanitarians of the Year. The couple arrived hand in hand, radiating warmth and elegance in coordinated black looks Meghan stunning in a tailored blazer-and-trouser ensemble accented with gold jewelry, and Harry sharp in a classic suit and patterned tie.

The pair looked happy and relaxed as they posed on the red carpet before accepting their award. “Working with families and young people to prioritize safety online has been some of the most meaningful work of our lives,” they shared in a joint statement last month. “As parents ourselves, we’ve been moved by the power of their stories and are honored to support them.”

They added, “We’re proud to be long-time partners of Project Healthy Minds as we continue to shine a light on one of the most urgent issues of our time.”

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, parents to Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, are also slated to take part in Project Healthy Minds’ annual World Mental Health Day Festival on Friday, October 10. Through their Archewell Foundation, the couple co-produced a series of conversations spotlighting changemakers in the mental health space.

A special Archewell installation, The Lost Screen Memorial a digital tribute honoring children who have tragically lost their lives due to online harms like bullying, doxxing, and catfishing will also be displayed throughout the event.

Since stepping down from royal duties in 2020, Harry and Meghan have dedicated themselves to advocacy and philanthropy, focusing on mental health, online safety, and community empowerment. Their move from the U.K. to California marked a new chapter one that, while transformative, also brought personal challenges, including a strained relationship with Harry’s father, King Charles III.

However, the family appears to be making strides toward healing. In September, Harry met with the King at Clarence House in London their first in-person meeting in two years. As per a source that the reunion, prompted by a heartfelt letter from Harry, was “super positive and very relaxed.”

While Harry was in London for the WellChild Awards, Meghan remained in California before traveling solo to France for Paris Fashion Week. There, she attended Pierpaolo Piccioli’s debut Balenciaga show, wearing a sophisticated white pantsuit with a matching cape.

“Over the years, the Duchess has worn many designs by Pierpaolo,” her spokesperson said. “They’ve collaborated closely on key moments, and she deeply admires his craftsmanship and modern elegance.”

Following the show, Meghan shared her appreciation on Instagram, posting: “About last night. Thank you @pppiccioli and @balenciaga. I’ve missed you 🇫🇷 thanks for the love ❤️.”
