From her post-apocalyptic fashions à la Dune to her tenniscore-themed Challengers press run, it’s clear that Zendaya has mastered the art of method dressing. Planned in accordance with the upcoming release of Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey—which hits theatres on July 17—the actress’s latest red carpet run is an ode to epic Greek mythology.
There’s always been something ethereal about Zendaya, but her appointment as Athena, Greek goddess of wisdom and warfare, in the new Homer adaptation film confirms as much. It’s a tall order to stand out amongst such a star-studded cast (which includes but isn’t limited to: Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Z’s husband Tom Holland), but when you’re styled by image architect Law Roach, you’re bound to steal the spotlight.

A custom creation from Nicolas Ghesquière for Louis Vuitton, the actress’s lacy, cutout gown trailed down the black carpet—while its leg-bearing slit showcased her satin pumps. For added drama, she tossed a ruffled bolero over her shoulders and accessorized with a dazzling Miroir du Delta necklace from Messika.

For the Paris photocall at Trocadero Square, stylist Roach dressed Z in an archival Haute Couture spring/summer 1997 look by Alexander McQueen for Givenchy. To complement the fitted dress and its wing-like sleeves, she wore a gilded mask and headpiece designed by Philip Treacy, with sparkling jewellery from Fope.
