Kate Beckinsale is getting a lot of attention online right now for a really bizarre claim.
The 52-year-old Underworld actress recently spoke out about her 26-year-old daughter Lily Mo Sheen, whom she shares with ex Michael Sheen, and her daughter’s boyfriend, whom has not been publicly identified.
Kate made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday (November 24), where she spoke about her family.
“We’re very close family,” Kate said during the appearance.
“We’ve had a tough couple of years, both my parents passed away. And literally the only bright spot in the whole time came from him. He laid two eggs in a week is what the bright spot was,” she explained of Lily‘s boyfriend.
“What does that mean?” Jimmy said, confused.
“Well, he said, ‘I’ve laid an egg.’ It came out the route it would come out of a hen,” Kate went on to say.
“The first time it happened, he was genuinely scared and he was like, it’s got a full shell, it’s got a yolk…it’s the size of a bird. He crushed it to see what was inside. A yolk was inside, like a hardboiled one too. So it kind of cooked inside him.”
“I thought at first, okay this is a little bit embellished,” Kate went on to explain to the increasingly confused host.
“Obviously he can’t be…like this doesn’t happen. Also there was a lot going on in my family, so I kind went, ‘Okay, well, boyfriend’s laid an egg. Whatever.’”
A week later, Kate said the boyfriend claimed that he hatched another egg.
She also showed the photos to Jimmy, who said: “What in the world? Your daughter’s boyfriend is the Easter Bunny, there’s no other explanation.”
“It’s my favorite thing he’s ever done…I really like him,” Kate added, saying that she tried to contact medical professionals, but their theories didn’t pan out either.
Kate also turned heads with her look while arriving for the appearance.
